Larkin University and Larkin Health System Inspire Future Healthcare Leaders Through The Larkin Pathway: Summer Health Careers Program 2026

MIAMI, FL — July 14, 2026Larkin University, in collaboration with Larkin Health System, welcomed 26 high school students representing 14 different high schools across South Florida for The Larkin Pathway: Summer Health Careers Program 2026. The one-day immersive program was designed to introduce students to healthcare careers and educational pathways in the health sciences through interactive learning, mentorship, and professional engagement.

The program provided participants with a unique opportunity to engage directly with healthcare educators, professionals, and current Larkin University students. Through faculty panel discussions, an invited guest lecture, and networking sessions, students gained valuable insight into the diverse professions that contribute to today's healthcare workforce.

A highlight of the program was the series of interactive hands-on experiences that allowed students to explore healthcare practice in a real-world learning environment. Participants engaged in pharmaceutical compounding activities, simulation laboratory demonstrations, nursing skills training, pharmacy practice activities, clinical dentistry experiences, physician assistant and medical education exercises. These sessions offered students a firsthand look at the knowledge, skills, and teamwork required across healthcare disciplines.

In addition to exploring career opportunities, students learned about academic pathways and the educational preparation needed to pursue careers in healthcare. The program encouraged students to ask questions, connect with mentors, and envision their future roles as healthcare professionals.

“The Larkin Pathway Program reflects our commitment to inspiring and preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders. By providing students with early exposure to healthcare careers and hands-on learning experiences, we hope to ignite their passion for service and lifelong learning.”
