AEGD residents

On October 23rd, 2014 the AEGD residents had the opportunity to attend a continuing education course sponsored by SybronEndo and MicroEndodontics Specialty Center. The Course was given by Dr. Ed Merino a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. During the course the residents had the opportunity to discuss complex dental treatment planning cases and learn about different modalities of treatment for the immediate loading of dental implants using new technologies such as CAD/CAM and 3D treatment planning. Dr. Merino received his D.D.S. from the University of Detroit-Mercy in Michigan. He furthered his training in Nova Southeastern University where he completed a 3 year specialty in Prosthodontics.

Dr. Merino's primary focus has been in surgical and prosthetic treatment with dental implants. He specializes in complex total reconstructions. He has lectured extensively on various topics and held a faculty position at the University of Detroit-Mercy where he served as clinical instructor. He has collaborated with dental implant companies and has created continuing courses for dentists in the community. Currently Dr. Merino is the Co-Chairman of Prosthodontics at Larkin Hospital AEGD Program.
