Last May, 2015, Dr. Jose Valerio, from the Miami Neuroscience Center at Larkin, spoke at the the 11th Biennial Satellite Symposium of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS)/Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Section on Tumors, which took place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C. For 2015, the meeting theme was Tech Developments in Neuro-oncology. Attendees had the opportunity to attend lectures, discussions and symposia, all centered on cutting-edge technical innovation and management of tumors.
The AANS/CNS Section on Tumors had organized a scientific program in which the most recent advances in tumor therapy has been presented, including clinical updates, translational studies, and basic science neuro-oncology research. A central part of the meeting was the peer-reviewed oral and poster presentations selected from the submitted abstracts. in this section, Jose Edgardo Valerio, MD, FAANS presented the abstract titled "Efficacy of a gamma knife Radio-surgery in the treatment of primary central nervous system lymphoma in AIDS Patients," written by himself in colaboration with Izaak Wolf, MD; Sammie Coy, PhD, and Andres Alvarez-Pinzon, MD, MSC (Weston, FL)
