Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami has been officially designated as an official statutory teaching hospital, state regulators announced. The ranking goes to hospitals with at least 100 residents in training in seven or more disciplines. Jackson Memorial Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center have long had that designation in Miami-Dade. In May, the University of Miami Hospital also received that ranking. UM doctors also provide supervision for about 1,000 residents at Jackson Memorial. -- John Dorschner
