The Larkin Community Hospital department of anesthesiology is responsible for making patients comfortable who are undergoing various surgical procedures. Larkin Hospital has always had a strong tradition of caring for patients and easing their pain. On January 24, 2012 Larkin decided to share that expertise, and began its anesthesia residency program.

Anesthesiology Graduate Medical Education

As a teaching hospital it offers a four year anesthesia residency program, which prepares young doctors for the future. Our board-certified professors train the future of anesthesia providers using modern equipment and techniques from pediatrics to adults.

This program has been designed with the purpose of providing a comprehensive and concentrated postdoctoral training in Anesthesiology. This medical specialty includes patient assessment and provision of life support, amnesia, analgesia for both surgical procedures and childbirth; assessment and management of critically ill patients; and the assessment and management of patients with acute and chronic pain. It is our goal to provide patient comfort during surgical procedures in a caring environment.
