Larkin Community Hospital is one of the twelve designated statutory teaching hospitals in Florida and offers the largest number of training programs for Osteopathic Physicians in the United States. Larkin Community Hospital is also one of the first hospitals in Florida to grant ordering privileges to Registered Dietitians. The Larkin Dietetic Internship is a post-baccalaureate program emphasizing clinical nutrition with rotations to start in June and January.

Located in Miami, Florida, Larkin Community Hospital is one of the twelve designated statutory teaching hospitals in the state and offers a large number of training programs for Osteopathic Physicians in the United States. 

Larkin Community Hospital has two locations in Miami Dade, one in Hialeah and the other in South Miami.

Larkin Community Hospital Dietetic Internship

The Larkin Community Hospital Dietetic Internship program is a post-baccalaureate program with a clinical emphasis. Long distance and on-site options are available.

The program provides the required supervised hours in clinical nutrition, management, and community to successfully sit for the national registration exam for dietitians. 

In addition, Larkin Community Hospital didactic program is integrated to provide interns with the knowledge necessary to succeed during their rotations and become competent Registered Dietitians upon graduation.  

Our  goal is to train students into becoming confident and successful registered dietitians that can work comfortably in a multidisciplinary environment. In addition to the guidance of Larkin registered dietitians, interns are able to  learn from medical residents, pharmacists, and many other healthcare professionals.
